Hookers and Balls!

So Egypt lost to the USA in the Confederations Cup, after winning over Italy, and playing “honorably” in front of the legendary Brazil… hmm, big deal! why is this even news?!

The Egyptian team making fools of themselves!

The Egyptian team making fools of themselves!

Sports should be kept in the realm of practice! it is not some military victory (or defeat) that people should cheer about or rally behind! The fact that people do exactly that all around the world does not mean that it is right!

But it is a fact of life, and I came to accept it, I don’t challenge it (at least not anymore), if people want to hang mindlessly over the motion of a small round object in a green field, and pay ridiculous amounts of money to those who play with it… it’s their deal, I on the other hand avoid watching or getting involved in this mindless hype at all cost (Yes, I haven’t watched any of the above mentioned matches)

But honestly today I’m finding it entertaining for the first time!!!

Why?! because there is a controversy surrounding it! Apparently news leaked about the Egyptian Team members getting robbed, while living it up in Johannesburg, and now the media is at ablaze over the situation!

SundayWorld front Page

SundayWorld front Page

SundayWorld a south African newspaper, ran an article about it and featured it on its first page (above). and it seems that when the team were asked about the incident in a news conference, they neither confirmed or denied it!

After the game, Amr Adeeb ran the news on his talk show, hinting that this may actually be why the Egyptian team lost the game in the first place, which turned the whole world (at least the world of the Egyptian mindless mob!) against him, on the other hand Al Youm Al Sabe’ confirmed the news, defended Amr Adeeb and requested and official investigation in the incident.

Meanwhile in my office and on the street, everyone is feeling depressed and shamed today, over yesterday’s GAME, while I’m laughing my *** off! I think they all forgot that it is just a “GAME”, and hung some sentiment of pride and nationalism on it, as if winning it would mean that we are still of some global worth and that there is still Hope for  Egypt!

How ridiculous??!
Don’t misunderstand me, I’m patriotic (very patriotic may I add) but I just choose where to place my devotion, and it is certainly not hanging on anyone’s Ball-s!

It is Official: Swine flu is a worldwide pandemic

After holding an emergency meeting, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a global swine flu pandemic, and raised the Pandemic watch out level to Six, according to reports by BBC.

This declaration means that while swine flu virus is still not causing more severe illness or more deaths, it is rapidly spreading in at least two regions of the world with rising cases being seen in the UK, Australia, Japan and Chile. Actually the current pandemic seems to be moderate and causing mild illness in most people.

WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl said it had been expecting something more like the deadlier bird flu.

“It was believed that the next pandemic would be something like H5N1 bird flu, where you were seeing really high death rates, and so there were people who believed we might be in a kind of apocalyptic situation and what we’re really seeing now with H1N1 is that in most cases the disease is self-limiting,” he told the BBC.

The WHO will have to manage the global anxiety the declaration of a pandemic will generate, BBC correspondent says.

Reports that a high demand for medical masks is rising were found true, and a lot of pharmacies reported that their stocks of masks have ran out.

The governmental handling of the outbreak is still not up to the public expectations, despite the constant confirmation of the Ministry of Health, that the situation is still under control.

The mourning of morning

Untitled-1

“All around me darkness gathers
Silent is the sun that shone”

Light retreats, everything feels cold and hollow… warmth is gone and the very air I breathe feels damp.

What changed since yesterday?

Nothing and everything…
Morals feel immoral, and logic is utterly illogical.

The breaking of rules so established in one’s psyche can be very painful; but the breaking of attachments brings the end about.

What now?

The sun shines in the blue skies still, but it is not yesterday’s sun, and the skies are not the blue page they used to be for so long; instead, it’s a ring of agony filling an abandoned plane with piercing rays of plight.

The cycle keeps turning, but the reason for reason is lost.

“What’s wrong with this picture?”
“You know we miss her…”

All is in vain and vain is in all!

A song to Sheila

Twilight fades
Through blistered Avalon
The sky’s cruel torch
On arching autobahn
Into the uncertain divine
We scream into the last divine

You make me real
You make me real
Strong as I feel
You make me real

Sheila rides on crashing nightingale
Intake eyes leave passing vapor trails
With blushing brilliance alive
Because its time to arrive

You make me real
You make me real
Strong as I feel
You make me real

Lately I just cant seem to believe
Discard my friends to change the scenery
It meant the wrold to hold a bruising faith
But now its just a matter of grace

A summer storm graces all of me
Highway warm sing silent poetry
I could bring you the light
And take you home into the night

You make me real
Lately I just cant seem to believe
You make me real
Discard my friends to change the scenery
Strong as I feel
It meant the wrold to hold a bruising faith
You make me real
But now its just a matter of grace
